A new trend emerging in the world of bridesmaid dresses is e-commerce sites offering “designer dresses” at substantially lower prices than your local bridal boutique.

Studio Bridesmaid replaces Miss Kate’s Maids
The former Miss Kate’s Maids has been re-envisioned as Studio Bridesmaid, co-owners Crystal Watkins and Colleen Galacz announced last week.

The bridesmaid dress boutique is located in the same spot as Miss Kate’s Maids, at 2121 Cole St., but has been completely remodeled and refinished. The shop was purchased by Watkins and Galacz in January 2011.

Miss Kate’s Maids, which also sold bridesmaid dresses, was the 2011 recipient of the “Best of the Knot: Detroit — Best Dress Store” award from The Knotmagazine. Studio Bridesmaids continues many of those same traditions, offering bridesmaids a wide choice of exclusive dress designers. Consultations are by appointment only.

We are very excited to announce the New Look and New Name Studio Bridesmaid. We purchased miss kate’s maids in January of 2011 & have been working very hard and listening to the voices of our clients, family & friends. With all that we learned, we knew we needed to make the store our own and that starts with the new name January 1st! The store is currently getting remodeled so please pardon the dust!
